Ella McCrumb- Ella was the only freshman girl to join MSU this season. There was a need for A team women’s skiers, and she jumped right in, willing to try anything! She’s been casually water skiing since she was a kid, but three-event skiing was new to her. She loves to cheer on her team and is always ready to learn new skills. Furthermore, she was determined to land a jump and was able to after her 5th time off Big Red. After the season ended, she took over the leadership role of our PR Chair. She is a great addition to our team and I can’t wait to see her improve in all three events during the rest of her collegiate career!

Ohio University- OU has been working hard to grow their team and this year made it to Regionals for the first time in 20 years! Furthermore, at Regionals, their women’s slalom team place 5th. They increased the size of their team a lot by encouraging skiers of all skill levels and helping make the team more financially accessible.

Aidan Hughes- This season he tied the collegiate regional record in trick that was set in 2006 with a score of 4,310 points. Aidan has put in a lot of time to water skiing to master the different tricks (slide slides and everything). Also, he officially joined the century club this season! The focus he has before skiing shows how serious he is about the sport and how much he wants to do well for the team.

Grand Valley- In the past couple of years I have seen GV grow a lot as a team. They always bring positive energy with their Laker spirit and are ready to bring it every time. All around they’ve put in the time and effort to help their skiers improve to be more well-rounded this past season. I greatly admire their perseverance and can’t wait to see them at Nationals sometime soon!

Collin Faeth- After graduation, he has continued to be involved with MSU and support the team. Collin showed up to help us recruit during Sparticipation, our biggest recruiting event of the year, and has convinced various people he knew to join the team. One of the members who joined this season thanks to his influence is now our vice president! He showed up to MSU Ripfest to support the team and encourage us, he also helped coach skiers going off the jump. As a team, we appreciate the positive energy he always brings and how even post-graduation he is helping the team grow. The happy award is fitting for Collin because his love of water skiing is contagious and he always brings a smile to everyone’s face.
