Ethan ‘Smiley’ Jost from Iowa State! Most people in the Midwest know about our situation with our university not letting us compete and Ethan took over presidency after this heartbreaking decision. Leading your team to victory is one way to be a good captain, but I think being an outstanding leader is building back up a team that’s been knocked down and climbing obstacles while trying to fight for it. Ethan is there for this team in these large ways, but also there every single day when you need him. All of August he was the only boat driver and would spend all day at the lake just so we could ski and spend all night baking banana bread to bring to the lake to share. Everyone refers to Ethan Jost as ‘Smiley’ because I have quite literally never seen him not smiling even when I almost ran him over with the boat he still had that big smile across his face. Ethan is a team captain we at Iowa State are all proud to call our president.
