Laney Peterson has played a tremendous role in building and running the UW La Crosse water ski team. I was a freshman this last year at La Crosse and Laney was one of the first people to come up to me and introduce herself. She made myself and all of the other new members feel extremely welcome. Laney walked me through everything that I needed to know for my first tournament and most importantly reminded me to have fun in the process. She is always extremely encouraging to everyone around her and pushes everyone to be their best. Laney competes in all three events and is a skier that I strive to be in the future. She is someone that I look up to, not only because of her outstanding skiing abilities, but because she is an amazing leader. She is humble and leads by example in everything that she does, and that is why I think she very much deserves the most outstanding senior female award.
