ParticipantUW-Madison would like to nominate Victor Banovetz for Most Likely To Go Pro. Victor has an extreme passion for 3-event waterskiing specifically in Slalom. He is an international student from Russia who quickly feel in love with slaloming. He shreds buoys and hand drags every pass. Since coming to the U.S. he has quickly progressed his skiing and we will soon see him making his way onto the pro tour. Watch out Dane Mechler, Vic is coming for you.

ParticipantI nominate Cal O’Callaghan for the hardest worker award. Cal spends all their time skiing, pulling sets, helping others, coaching, and anything else related to being on a collegiate ski team. Cal attended every ski event with enthusiasim and dedication. Cal always took the time to send every Women’s skier, A and B team, of the dock while also providing them with equipment and coaching. Furthermore, Cal judged events and made sure the tournaments ran smoothly. There was never a moment Cal wasn’t busy at tournaments.

ParticipantI nominate Mitchel Kudronowicz aka “Kujo”. Kujo had the biggest sends on the UW-Madison team. As the team watched Kujo, we were always proclaiming “He is LATE”. Every jump set with Kujo was absolutely electric. We never knew if he was going to come out unscathed or with an epic jump. He brought amazing energy to the event while putting up big scores and even bigger crashes.

ParticipantI nominate Noah Lazzara for most supportive Alumni. Noah attended a tournament every weekend where he was a crucial member judging, driving, and operating technology. He is always thinking about skiing and getting himself involved in any way possible. Additionally, he serves as a guide and provides advice to the UW-Madison ski team on everything from boat maintenance to club issues. Without Noah Midwest collegiate skiing and the UW-Madison ski team would look very different.

ParticipantI nominate Samuel Strachan. Sam was the only male three eventer on the UW-Madison ski team. He consistently produced high scores in all three events and was crucial to the success of our team.

ParticipantKeelie Plessner deserves most improved skier. Last season Keelie was only on A team for jump averaging around 40 ft. In the summer, she worked extremely hard improving in all three events. Keelie improved her scores from never running a slalom pass and rarely tricking over 100 points to tricking over 800, slaloming into 32 mph, and jumping over 50 ft. She quickly became a very important member of University of Wisconsin-Madisons Woman’s team while earning high placements overall at multiple tournaments.
