Sean Freitag is the definition of a Beacon of Light on our team. No matter the situation, you can always count on Sean to be smiling, laughing, and making everyone around him do the same. His energy is contagious—if Sean starts laughing, the whole dock follows. He has a way of turning even the most stressful moments into fun ones, bringing positivity and joy to every practice, tournament, and team event.
Beyond his incredible attitude, Sean is simply one of the best people to be around. He lifts up his teammates, radiates good vibes, and makes sure that everyone feels welcome and supported. He doesn’t just bring energy—he is the energy, and our team wouldn’t be the same without him.

Mary Nelson is the kind of skier every team wishes they had. Even though she’s not on my team, her presence on the dock is impossible to ignore. She brings an infectious energy that lifts up everyone around her, always cheering people on, offering support, and making sure the dock is a place of encouragement rather than pressure.
Beyond her positivity, Mary is an incredible skier who consistently pushes the limits of her abilities and represents Miami of Ohio with skill and sportsmanship. She’s not just focused on her own performance—she’s there for everyone, whether it’s helping out with equipment, giving words of encouragement, or celebrating others’ successes as much as her own.
Mary exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding senior female skier. Her dedication, leadership, and unwavering support for the entire collegiate ski community make her more than deserving of this recognition.
