Hunter is outstanding. What he has done for this team and community I am beyond thankful for. If you can not find hunter at a tournament, you can probably find him at the top of the scoreboards, in the drivers seat, or giving credit to your ski pass, hunter does it all. He has done so much to help tournaments run smooth over the duration of his 4 years. Hunter has also had a tremendous impact on the performance of our team. We are all able to learn so much more with his knowledge on the sport. We are so grateful to have his boat driving skills, coaching skills, and crazy good ski talent. Hunter’s consistent high level performance has supported our team to much success over the course of the season. This year Hunter demonstrated hard work, patience and sacrifice. He suffered and injury this summer that slowly affected him more and more during the season. He fought through it for a bit, but decided to sacrifice his position at regionals to help his recovery and the teams score. Hunter is a true team player and cares about the growth of our team, sport and community. I do not know how it would be possibly to get to where I am today without his coaching, motivation, and positive mentality. I am truly thankful for him and believe he is truly deserving of this award.

Danielle Eriksson – UW La Crosse

Danielle is a fully committed member of our team who is dedicated to the growth, support, and motivation within our team. She can be found on the dock for every single skier A-B team. From the start of the day till the end, she is constantly supporting the team, always on her feet and raising spirits. Danielle is one of the most caring members as she truly wants to get to know everyone, make new friends, and make sure they all feel apart of the team and community. She wants the team to be success full so she is constantly motivating people to set and achieve new goals. The spark she brings to the team has been a vital part of our recent years growth as competitors, students, and friends.

When i first met Hunter i thought he was a pro skier already. Come my first year skiing, everyone new Hunter as the guy who won the tournament with his opener. If you don’t know Hunter well he’s the kid tossing walls on the swerve stick with his blonde hair flowing behind him. He has such knowledge on the sport weather its coaching my technique, calculation trick runs, or driving/scoring/judging tournaments. 3-eventing all his life, Hunter has consistently high scores and he is constantly improving at a rapid rate. He has worked at multiple prestigious ski schools, this year he will be venturing to Bennetts. My prediction is that he will have an Open rating (professional stuff) within the next 1-2. Skiing is Hunters passion and without a doubt in my mind this is the most serious candidate for most likely to go pro. #SwerveWorldwide #Shreeeedddiiiiiittttttt #BoogieNights #RespectTheDuff

Sam, hardest worker by far. Sam was our president this year and she handled anything that has come her way. She works just as hard outside of the season as she does during the season, on the water and off the water. You can find Sam at practice pushing herself everyday. She is an amazing slalomer, consistent jumper, and one of our leading trick skiers always seeking out new spins and flips. She makes all our lives easier each and every day. She was extremely timely and organized with her work as president. She was always to practice on time and took time out of her day to help others get to practice and have the equipment they needed. I have never seen someone as kind, caring, and hardworking as sam is. She is under recognized for all the work she does for the team. Sam has been working extremely hard planning winter conference, our teams spring break, and providing me all the information i need to lead a team. I just hope i can be half as good of a leader and hard worker she is. Sam i cannot thank you enough for all that you do for us. #TeamMom #GingerLivesMatter

I cannot say much as am not on his team but what i see in Chris surpasses most. Chris is a born leader. From being a captain this year he became President of ISU and Chair of the Great Plains. I have been fortunate to be on the dock and around Chris because he’s always their to support not only his team but his friends. I felt like he was a captain to me this year. Chris is always there to brighten the mood and turn a bad set into the best set ever. Chris is one of the best teammates anyone could ask for. I wish him the best of luck on his cross sea studies and can’t wait for another season with such a great leader and friend like him.

I remember it like it was yesterday… I was taking the trek around dream lakes headed back to the land of tents while conversing on the my telephone, when suddenly I saw a late cut out of the corner of my eye. I saw fear amongst skiers, many cringes and concerns as I witnessed the Weber wipeout. But on a serious note Nikki is a phenomenal jumper always out there pushing her limits and doing whatever it takes to earn another PB.

Wow what an amazing year. I haven’t been apart team like this before. We had the most participation amongst a team in awhile. Everyone was outgoing and eager to help out and learn. We had so many new members join that hopped right into the action. we had a full mens team for the first time in awhile and a dominant woman’s team (check tourney scores they kill it). The group of skiers we had this year were always up for the first skier of the day till the last. Skigles lined the shores to support each other all year long. In one season we went from taking 4th in D2 to qualifying D1. Most importantly to highlight our season we had fun, lots and lots of fun.

    Reid Miller- UW-Mad

Reid is amazing. This summer he was elected ski team MVP and this fall for his team (correct me if im wrong) was awarded rookie of the year for Madison. Reid is a freshman force to be reckon with. He has pushed himself a lot this summer and fall to get to where he is. Reid is outgoing, talented, smart, and determined to learn more and fight his way to the top. I have not seen anyone dive into Collegiate skiing to connect with a team and progress as a skier like Reid had. Rookie of the year material. #WeSki4Reid
